New Client Fit
(4 hours/$575)
With 30 years of fitting experience, Chris has developed a comprehensive methodology to assess every aspect of a client’s bike fit. Each new client session begins with a series of individualized assessments and evaluations (outlined below). Once these assessments have been made, the interventions and course of actions required to optimize the fit vary from client to client. One client may be experiencing pain and discomfort on the bike and another may not have any known issues, but is looking to optimize their performance for racing or competition. The goals and interventions vary from client to client, but everyone has focused, targeted and individualized attention.
The New Client Fit includes:
Intake interview reviewing injuries and limitations, medical conditions that may affect the fit, current fit concerns, past cycling and sports activity history, and a discussion of goals
Physical assessments including taking comprehensive foot and body measurements, assessing asymmetries, flexibility, core strength and stability, foot orientation, and a gait analysis
Setting up proper cleat orientation and placement, shoe analysis and recommendations, potential shim or insole installation
Motion Capture Video Analysis to measure and assess maximum leg extension, minimum knee angle, sacral angle, body mass representation etc.
The Motion Capture Video films the rider on the bike so all your anatomical landmarks and total body is viewed as a whole (vs stick figures on a computer screen). This provides a holistic picture of the athlete on the bike
As changes are made to the fit, motion capture video is taken to analyze and measure the results of the interventions
Saddle Pressure Mapping
Includes analysis of pressure measurements of your current saddle and analysis of rider movement on the saddle when pedaling
Pressure mapping provides information about what is happening along the entire kinetic chain and provides insight of the total fit, even when a rider has a saddle that works well for them
Includes assessments of different saddles to find the optimal saddle for you if it is determined your current saddle is not ideal (this may include trying multiple saddles as we work to find the best solution for you)
Sometimes positional changes, changes in handlebar reach or stem length, crankarm length, cleat placement, shim placement etc result in positive changes in saddle comfort, pressure and stability on the bike
Evaluation of pedaling efficiency and biomechanics through the pedal stroke
Crank arm length evaluation using the dynamic fit unit if applicable
If a change in saddle, handlebar, and/or stem is required to optimize the fit, we have a wide selection of these components in the studio
Stack and reach and bike geometry recommendations for those looking to purchase a new bike
The amount of time spent on each evaluation/intervention will vary from client to client depending on your needs, goals etc. Additionally, Chris’ process is collaborative and your input and feedback is an important part of the process.
Reports and information provided post fit include
Pre and post fit bike measurements report including saddle height, saddle tilt and setback, saddle tip to handlebar, saddle to handlebar drop, hood degree placement etc
Body assessment report and range of right recommendations
Pre and post video capture images
Includes 1 free follow up appointment ( 90 mins) within 90 days of the initial fit
